Pricing guide

How much does schema markup cost?

Anywhere from nothing to an agency's hourly rate. The price mostly depends on who fills in the fields: you, a plugin template, a freelancer, or software that reads the page. Here's each option with real prices, what it gets you and what it takes from you.

Free schema generator

$0

What you get
A valid block for whatever fields you fill in.
What it takes from you
You read your own page and type every field into a form: name, price, hours, address, each review. When the page changes, you do it again.
Good fit
One or two simple pages and an evening to spare.

SEO plugin or app

Free versions; Yoast SEO Premium $118.80 a year, Rank Math Pro from €7.99 a month billed yearly, Schema Pro $69 a year. On Shopify, JSON-LD for SEO is $399 a year.[1][2][3][4]

What you get
A site-wide graph on every page (Organization, WebSite, breadcrumbs) and templates for page types.
What it takes from you
Page-specific facts, like a product's return policy or a location's hours, are fields you fill in or map yourself. What the template doesn't know stays out.
Good fit
Sites that already run one. Keep it, and add page-level blocks where it stops.

FullSchema

$5 a page, $4 from 50 pages, $3 from 200. No subscription.

What you get
A complete block written from what the page shows, checked against Google's required fields before you get it. Nothing added that the page doesn't say.
What it takes from you
Pasting the page's address, then pasting the code where your platform takes it: a box on WordPress, one product field on Shopify, a page setting on most builders.
Good fit
Owners who'd rather not type fields or hire someone. Local businesses and stores with a handful to a few hundred pages.

Freelancer

Upwork puts SEO experts at $15-35 an hour, and technical SEO audits that include schema recommendations at $500-2,000 a project. Starting prices for schema markup gigs on Fiverr ran from €5 to €150 when we checked.[5][6]

What you get
Someone else does the work. Quality and scope vary a lot between sellers.
What it takes from you
A brief, access to your site, a review of what comes back, and another order when pages change.
Good fit
Custom setups with no place to paste code, or schema bundled with other SEO work.

SEO agency

In Ahrefs' survey of 439 SEO providers, $75-100 was the most common hourly rate and $501-1,000 the most common monthly retainer.[7]

What you get
Schema as one part of wider SEO work: audits, content, links, reporting.
What it takes from you
A retainer or project fee, a contract, and time for briefings.
Good fit
When you want an SEO strategy, not just markup.

What a typical site costs with FullSchema

Start with the pages that can earn a rich result or already rank. Tag archives and thin listing pages can wait.

Costs people forget to count

Upkeep

Schema repeats facts from the page. When a price, opening hours or a return window changes, the block is out of date until someone updates it. With FullSchema that's a regenerate (1 credit), or Site Monitor ($12 per site per month, optional) checks weekly and tells you which page changed.

Old blocks with errors

A theme or plugin block with errors keeps showing in Search Console until it's switched off, even after you add a complete one.

What each product error means →

Your own time

Free tools cost hours, and so does briefing and checking a freelancer's work. Count it, even if it doesn't show up on an invoice.

Two tools writing the same thing

Before paying for a plugin or app, check what your theme or builder already writes. If two tools describe the same product, it's rarely an error, but you've paid twice for one job.

Do you need to hire someone?

Usually not, if you can log in to your site

The slow part of schema is reading the page and getting every field right. FullSchema does that part, and pasting the result takes about as long as editing a page.

Hiring still makes sense when your site has no place to paste code, or when a developer can add schema to a template once for thousands of similar pages.

  1. 1

    Paste the page's address

FullSchema reads the page: what it is, its prices, hours, reviews, address, whatever it shows.

  2. 2

    Copy the block

It's already checked against Google's required fields.

  3. 3

    Paste it into your site

Into the box your platform has for it. The guides below show exactly where, per platform.

  4. 4

    Test it

Run the page through Google's Rich Results Test and check that the block shows up without errors.

Questions

What people ask about schema markup pricing

Is schema markup a one-time cost?

Mostly. You pay once per page, and the block keeps working as long as the page says the same thing. When prices, hours or policies change, the block should be updated too, so budget for the pages that change often.

Is free schema markup good enough?

The free schema from a theme, plugin or site builder is usually valid, but thin: it names the site and the business and often stops there. In our study most pages had some structured data, but few had markup that was complete and correct. A free base layer is worth keeping; the page-specific blocks are what it leaves out.

Why do freelancer prices vary so much?

Location, experience and scope. Before you compare quotes, ask what's included: how many pages, which schema types, whether they test in the Rich Results Test, and who fixes it when Search Console reports an error later.

Can I get schema markup done for me?

FullSchema doesn't install code on your site, and for most sites nobody needs to. If you can log in to your site's admin and paste text into a box, you can add it yourself in a few minutes per page. Hiring someone is worth it in the two cases covered above: no place to paste code, or thousands of near-identical pages a developer can template once.

Does FullSchema charge a subscription?

No. You buy credits, 1 credit per page, valid for 12 months, and a free balance on sign-up covers your first 2 pages. Failed scans are refunded. Site Monitor is the only monthly option, and it's optional.

Try it on one page first

Your first pages are covered by the free balance. Paste one and look at the block before you decide.

Free page check first, then $10 free to start. No card needed.
